Earlier this week I was wine tasting at No 131, the recently renovated boutique hotel, restaurant and bar in Cheltenham. Okay, maybe not so much me doing the tasting, I was in fact there to photograph the event. It was organised by Bibendum Wine, to showcase their selection of wines available to local businesses here in Gloucestershire.
Jake Osbourne the SW Area Manager has a formidable knowledge of wines having worked in the industry for over a decade and traveled extensively to wineries around the globe. I on the other hand know very little about the subject, but alongside this commercial photography shoot, I did pick up a few pointers and sampled some sweet Rosé myself!
The brief was to shoot my usual style of documentary photography in order to give Bibendum a high quality selection of commercial photos for use in web, print and media. The event was relaxed with a professional edge and well suited to the stylish environment of No 131. I love the subtle reference to Superdry here! These giants of menswear & women’s fashion, started out here in Cheltenham, building the brand before it went global. The owners have since invested heavily back in the town with this new venue (No. 131) where the wine tasting took place.
