Last weekend saw me photograph a same sex wedding at Friars Court in Oxfordshire. It was Pete & Nick’s turn to tie the knot and they chose the splendid setting of Friars Court gardens to have their outdoor wedding ceremony. This venue is perfectly suited to outdoor wedding ceremonies (which are becoming ever more popular) […]
I had a doubler header this bank holiday weekend with the first wedding at Friars Court in Oxfordshire. This venue is perfectly suited to outdoor wedding ceremonies (which are becoming ever more popular), but a spanner can be thrown into the works when the weather has other ideas. Reported 25mph winds and heavy rain aren’t […]
Although Friars Court is a wedding venue I work at fairly often, I don’t actually know Oxfordshire all that well. As a general rule I photograph more weddings in Gloucestershire, but certainly enjoy a trip ‘slightly’ further afield in the Cotswolds when possible. Last weekend it was Lee & Tracey’s turn to tie the knot, […]
Saturday the 18th August is a special day, not only was it Ashley & Laura’s wedding day, but also my little girls birthday. In true Matt Davis style though, I postponed birthday arrangements and ended up at work in Oxfordshire, returning to the popular wedding venue of Friars Court. I did miss out on pony […]
Sit yourself down for the story of Rob & Sian’s vintage wedding at Friars Court in June 2012. Better still, if you’re looking for some vintage wedding ideas, perhaps inspiration on how to decorate a rustic barn for a wedding, then look no further – it’s all here for your delight. When it comes to weddings, […]
I have photographed a lot of Friars Court weddings over the past few years and here are Gareth & Laura’s wedding photos from July 2010. I’d got to know this couple reasonably well having had an Engagement Shoot with them earlier in the year. They’d been worried about having wedding photographs taken so decided it […]
Grab a pew, give yourself 5 mins off work and take a look at Martin & Bryony’s wedding from Friars Court in July 2010. As far as quintessential English weddings go, this must be up there with the best of them. Bridal preps in a chocolate box Cotswold village, followed by a wedding ceremony at St […]
Thank you for taking just the best photos. So many people have commented about how ‘fab’, ‘stunning’ and ‘beautiful’ they are; and we have just been chuffed to bits showing them off to everyone.
The day was just amazing and we think you have reproduced and recorded it for us just as we would want to remember it in 40 years time, so thank you!
Friars Court is a mid-17th century house, set in 600 acres of beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. Friars Court is a privately owned property and so you will have exclusive use of all the grounds.
Civil ceremonies can take place in a number of locations around Friars Court most notably are the outdoor wedding venue of the Rose Arbour or the Stone Barn.
