Matara wedding photography – James & Gemma

What a beautiful day for a wedding at Matara. Wedding photography couldn’t be more enjoyable than at this venue with all it’s nooks and crannies, style and quirkiness so working here is always a venue I enjoy.  James & Gemma got married in July 2011 with friends and faimily fitting in time amongst thier jobs in the film industry.  Gemma works as a Make-up artist and James a Producer/Director, so getting everyone together must have been a logistical nightmare, seeing as they often have time away from home for periods of up to six months at a time.  All this time spent with cameras and film crews didn’t mean James & Gemma wanted to be in front of one themselves though, so a day of relaxed photography with just a few portraits was called for.

The wedding styling at Matara was done by Gemma’s sister who works as a set designer and I must say the strong blues and feathers were certainly a fresh look I’d not yet seen this year.  Matara’s wedding ceremony / wedding breakfast room is a large space to fill too, so great to see plenty of decorations.

Wedding hair and make-up curtsy of a fantastic set of professionals (aka friends) certainly gives your wedding day a good kick start.

After the wedding ceremony, a Jewish blessing was held outside in the oriental gardens at Matara too.  It’s great to have the choice of an indoor ceremony, or this beautiful spot for an outdoor ceremony.  If you wish to see other weddings I’ve photographed that have had an outdoor wedding, check out the link.
