Kingscote Barn wedding photography – Rob & Gemma

It’s time for an autumnal collection of Kingscote Barn wedding photography from Rob & Gemma’s big day in October 2012.  Sit back, maybe pop a rug over your legs if it’s cold….or use the laptop to warm your thighs.  I’m on catch up from a couple of past weddings and this is finally ready to be released to the world…..or my small blog following!  In fact, this raises a good point, a kinda Gloucestershire wedding photographers confessional.

Ever wondered why many of my blog posts have strange phrases like ‘Kingscote Barn wedding photography or Kingscote Barn wedding photos etc mentioned soooo many times.  Well folks, it’s simply the need to rank well in Google, or so we’re led to believe.  Good old fashioned word of mouth, recommendations from venues, and/or advertising is never enough nowadays and to get seen by the many brides out thier searching for a photographer you need to be up there on page one of Google. Preferably for key phrases like Kingscote Barn wedding photography (hah…see what I did there, okay so you get the idea, let’s get back on track!)

Gemma was a bride I’d spoken to on many occasions but never actually met.  It’s strange how you build up an idea of someone, which in reality happened to be completely wrong!  Gemma is one of those people in life that are very caring.  Maybe its the fact she reads my blog, but anyone who ask “how are your kids Matt” clearly knows a little about my life……and briefly to answer that, “today they are fine thanks, one is dressed up as a Skeleton, the other a Witch” – I should add, it is Halloween!

OMG, I’m waffling again and I’ve written another paragraph with no mention of Kingscote Barn wedding photography – what’s up with me!  LOL.

Anyhow onto wedding days: beautiful brides, autumnal flowers, tears, laughter, wedding dresses (and a big one at that)…it’s all here folks.  Kick back and enjoy the photos below.

something blue on your wedding day

Need something blue on your wedding day? Well wait right until the last minute then sew on some blue ribbon to your garter……or get your bridesmaid to do it as was actually the case.

Classic wedding car arriving at Kingscote Barn

Gemma’s dad had a classic car, perfect or your wedding day, albeit very cosy when stuffed full of bride, big wedding dress PLUS duvet cover to keep it clean!

Clearly one wedding guest got the memo about the yellow colour scheme, but what happened to the rest?  (Hah, ‘memos’ remember them? Old school I know, so probably before most of your times)  To think you’d type something out on your computer, print it off, give it to the ‘office admin’ person, who’d then take it around to the relevant person in your office – OMG, thank goodness for email!)

After the wedding ceremony a spontaneous receiving line formed, which has to be said is a nice relaxed way to say a quick hi to ‘most’ of your guests whilst enjoying the drinks reception.

Chilly autumn weddings need pashminas for the bridesmaids

So, weddings at Kingscote Barn in the autumn.  Yep….there is a high likelihood the weather may be a touch too chilly for summer dresses.  Bring on the pashminas :-)

Back inside at Kingscote Barn, dressed ready for the wedding breakfast.  At this point it’s worth pointing out this is officially the first time (or at least first time I’ve remembered) that I’ve seen leaves used as the table centrepieces.  A neat idea and work well for the autumnal wedding theme.

The table names were pets the couple had known over their lifetime.  I only wish I photographed the ‘floppy’ table now – ahh well.

Gemma made home made marmalade for table favours…..and I still forgot to take a pot home with me – doh.

Wedding often throw up a few hard moments during speeches….but these were dealt with very well by Rob.

Kingscote Barn wedding photographer Matt Davis captured this tender moment during speeches

From tears of sadness to tears of joy in about six seconds.  Remarkable.
