Weddings at Berkeley Castle – Tilmann & Beth

I’ve photographed many weddings at Berkeley Castle in Gloucestershire, but last weekend had a more  European feel than usual.  Tilmann & Beth had a significant number of friends and family who had traveled from Holland and Germany to attend the wedding, giving it a new dimension with multiple languages to deal with.

Richard the Vicar who ran the service at St Mary’s Church in Berkeley certainly played his part, having many phrases to hand, most of which were lost on me despite my GCSE in German

Thankfully my part in a wedding day needs little in the way of conversational skills.  In fact I rarely have a minute spare to spend chatting to guests, and this day was no exception.

Anyhow, without further ado, sit back and enjoy a few photos from another of my fab weddings at Berkeley Castle.

Ringlets were order of the day…..

….although I’m not sure how long the bridesmaids curly will stay ‘springy’ for is she keeps puling them out!?

Fantastic stance by the make-up lady here.  I too produce some wonderful moves behind the camera, but thankfully that’s usually where they stay.

A last minute touch up to the nail polish.

Love the reaction on the ladies face sat in the pew here.  Clearly she hasn’t seen these girls in a long time.

Whilst I photographed the groups, so did my small army of followers.

It was great weather for photos outdoors at Berkeley castle.  the grounds have so many options for photos, it’s hard sometimes to limit it to only a few.

Tilmann clearly pleased to be married.

Berkely Castle has such beautiful rooms inside and with guests enjoying a castle tour, it gave me the opportunity to use the space that is otherwise occupied by guests.

Somebody is pleased to show off that wedding ring again :-)

I love this final photo of Tilmann & Beth silhouetted against the setting sun.  I’ve photographed several weddings at Berkeley Castle over the past few years, and I’m always drawn to this archway.  From a functional perspective it gives access into the castle courtyard but from a photographers perspective (when the light is right), provides a great opportunity to capture something unique in terms of a couple portrait, yet still retain the scale of the Castle in the photo.

If you have been looking for weddings at Berkeley Castle and enjoyed seeing these photos, please drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you.
