Over the yeas, I’ve photographed several winter weddings at Kingscote Barn in Gloucestershire. Possibly as I’m one of their recommended wedding photographers, but no doubt down to the fact they have a lot of weddings held there each year too. I can only assume this is testament to the fantastic wedding venue that it is, plus the super service offered by the staff at the barn.
Weddings at Kingscote Barn are always different though, never do we have the same weather, and this weekend was cerainly the case. As I’m writing this blog post there is snow throughout Gloucestershire, and I’m wearing gloves and a wooly hat for the 30 second commute to my office. Yet one week ago it was glorious sunshine and 10-12 degree (heat) at Kingscote Barn for James & Karen’s wedding. Guests had even chosen to go outside for the drinks reception….!
For any bride considering having flower girls at their wedding….may I recommend and iPad with children’s Disney films (or such like). Worked wonders at keeping these two entertained whilst in Hair & Make-Up.
Make up was provided by Clare of Pure Pampering.
Looking good, now work it for the camera!
Sleeveless bridesmaid dresses in January…..fine on a nice day like today!
What a great gesture from James’ ‘Best woman’.
Ahh
This is a fab face from James’ ‘Best Woman’……
Bubbles and flowers girls, a wining combination.
I love this pic, the bubble against the guys black jacket in the background totally makes it for me.

Golden light from the setting sun on January 11th – would you believe it.
Inside Kingscote Barn was laid out with two straight long tables. This is only the second time I’ve come across this table layout in the barn and it works really well. It does however require you have a smaller wedding party than Kingscote Barn’s full capacity. In this instance there were around 50 (ish) guests.

I get to deal with some very rude guests at time ;-)
James & Karen had brief speeches in the reception area of Kingscote Barn rather than during their wedding breakfast. It’s a much more informal approach, and suited their intimate wedding well.
